Viareggio, la capitale del Carnevale italiano per un mese, si trasforma nella fabbrica del divertimento tra sfilate di giganti di cartapesta, feste notturne, spettacoli pirotecnici, veglioni, rassegne teatrali, appuntamenti gastronomici e grandi eventi sportivi mondiali. Il triplice colpo di cannone è il segnale inequivocabile che a Viareggio inizia la festa. Sparato dal mare dà, ogni volta, il via alla sfilata dei carri. The Carnival of Viareggio has been for 144 years the most spectacular Italian event, testimony of the artistic and organizational ability of the Italians in the world. Since 1987, Fondazione Carnevale has been the authority that organizes the manifestation. The 3 kilometer promenade, where the parade takes place, is one of the focal point of the city, characterized by shops, cafes, refreshment points and Liberty style buildings. The Carnival of Viareggio fills a whole month of daytime and nighttime festivities with parades of allegorical floats, local parties, masked balls and festivals of all kinds.

CARNEVALE ASCOLANO - CARNIVAL OF ASCOLI PICENO

Nel carnevale ascolano, il cuore dell'evento diventa l'area cittadina di piazza del Popolo che, abbellita da eleganti lampadari, si trasforma in una grande sala da ballo pronta ad accogliere ed ospitare tutti gli intervenuti. Tutta la zona che circonda la piazza e le strade del centro storico sono, inoltre, addobbate con altri lampadari policromi che, illuminando le vie, creano l'atmosfera di un fastoso teatro all'aperto. Ad Ascoli, il carnevale trova nel suo spirito giocoso la particolarità di coinvolgere tutti i presenti, sia mascherati o sia semplici spettatori. La città si popola di gruppi mascherati e di tante maschere singole, comunemente dette macchiette, che, con pochi mezzi e tanta inventiva, riescono a far vivere con ironia, arguzia e sagacia l'anima e l'essenza surreale della manifestazione, coinvolgendo nelle loro storie, nelle loro rappresentazioni e nei loro racconti anche i presenti che diventano parte integrante della loro mascherata.

The Carnival of Ascoli Piceno is an extraordinary manifestation that has been handed down for generations and involves the entire population.
